Baby feet

As I promised you, Gus eating his treat........

You must wonder if I'm running out of things to say?

No, not really. I always have lots to say. It's just that I thought Gus eating his treat would be more eventful.

It wasn't.
Sorry folks.

But I do have something to share that IS eventful.......... MORE TITUS PICTURES!!!!!!

It's so nice having a baby again in the family. Here are a few pictures of Titus from our recent trip to his house.

Gracie is a wonderful baby holder. She is gentle and sings lullaby's.

Ryan is also a super baby holder. However he isn't so keen on bottle feeding. Look at Ryan's hands compared to Titus'. Oh my!!!

I have great pictures of Ian with him but I cannot figure out how to get them off my phone. I will work on that.

His legs are so tiny. Well, everything about him is tiny. I was trying to do a wanna-be photography session with him. Titus had other ideas though.

He was hungry.
He wanted us to know that he was hungry.

So instead of baby bums, I took pictures of baby feet. The next best thing!!!!

ahhh! So precious!!!!

To My Valentine's

I have made a gazillion Valentine's. My friends, my girl's group, Gracie's classroom. I have glitter on every inch of my body.

Yes....... everywhere!!!!!!

My Valentine spoils me rotten. He knows exactly what THIS girl loves. He is the apple of my eye. My BFF. My love muffin!!!!! My main squeeze!!! In this picture he is filling up my gas tank in the freezing cold. I'm showing my appreciation by taking pictures of him.

He added more beads to my Pandora bracelet.

Gracie is making a mighty fine heart with her hands. Isn't this precious?

Looks who's loved in our house. By the way, only Ryan and I can do this with Congo. Rick, Ian and Gracie aren't able to pick him up. Don't ask!!!!!

I made a batch of pretty in pink cupcakes.
The buttercream frosting is so easy. Would you like me to share? OK.

1 1/2 cups butter (softened)
4 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract

Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add milk, beat until spreading consistency. Stir in vanilla.
note: I added a little bit of pink food coloring gel to mine to get that pretty hue.

This makes 3 cups of icing.
See, it's easy folks!!!

When Rick and I were on the Country Club Plaza, we stopped at a store called "3 Dog Bakery". This is a complete bakery for dogs. There was no Alpo in THIS shop. It was all organic and fancy-schmancy. My dogs wouldn't know how to act in a place like this. They would probably embarrass me. Gus would "toot", T-bone would hike his leg. I'm imagining it all in my head, and it's NOT pretty. My dogs are country through and through.
We decided to buy each of our dogs a treat for Valentine's Day. Today I will show you T-bone enjoying his treat. Tomorrow, I will show you Gus Bus.

T-bone is gently taking the treat from Rick. He has never seen anything like this before. Humm?

T-bone likes it!!!! He REALLY, REALLY LIKES IT!!!!!!!!

OH MY, he is liking it a little too much!!!!

Gross! My floor will never be the same again.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. I wuv you!!!!!

Part 1 & 2

PART 1:

Last night was............ FAMILY GAME NIGHT!!!!!!

YEAH!!!!!!

I opted to clean the kitchen while my men and "the princess" played. (and of course, I took pictures)

The game was Yahtzee. Possibly the worst game in all of mankind. (in my opinion) For some reason when I play, it makes me want to have an anxiety attack. I guess it's all the numbers....... and the pressure to roll properly. Ughhh!!! I can't handle it!!!!!

My "little Princess" has MAD Yahtzee skills. She won both games!!!! Not only did she win, she won by a landslide!!!!

PART 2:

I normally don't take photos of our dinner. Especially dinners that are this unimpressive!!!
Believe it or not, this dinner was special and a complete family effort.

It was M dinner.......

Meatloaf
Musselman's applesauce (that's stretching it, huh?)
Macaroni & cheese
Muffins
and............ broccoli ( we couldn't find a veggie that started with a M)

If you scroll back up to the top of the post, you will notice Ryan has an air soft gun in front of him.
So, these pictures are from the following night. Yet, the same air soft gun.

Dinners can get out of hand in our house, but really....... you have to bring a gun?

By the way, men named air soft guns. They named them so mom's would say, "Oh, it's an air-SOFT gun". "It couldn't hurt my young-uns if it's an air-SOFT gun."

WRONG!!!!!! It's a huge marketing ploy. Don't be fooled!!!

Manic Mondays

I've been reading this book to Gracie on the nights Rick works in the ER.

Long ago I read it to the boys. Gracie was just a wee little thing. I assumed that she would now appreciate the story of a young girl in a magical world even MORE than the boys. Especially since the movie is coming to theatres soon.

I WAS WRONG!!!

While reading the chapter "A CAUCUS-RACE AND A LONG TAIL", Gracie interrupted me to explain that she might be losing her tooth soon. She thought that might illicit a trip to the dentist. We carefully took care of that concern and I began reading again.............

"Mom". "It's really hard to concentrate on three books at once", Gracie informed me.

She explained that Mrs. Scott is reading a book at school. She is reading a book herself. Now I'm reading a book. (sigh)

I took the hint.
I had hopes for a "Mad Hatter" tea party for her birthday. Can I safely assume that is NOT going to happen?
A game of croquet after the tea party would have been divine.
The food would be labeled "drink me", "eat me", we could make a kiddie pool of "Alice's Tears".
The ideas are limitless........

Gracie, pppplllleaaaassseee!

She is quite independent. It won't be easy to change her mind.

Last year she wanted all her friends to bring their bicycles to Kansas City and ride them in a park. Oh my!!! We opted for a girl's night in the city. Without bicycles.

Gracie is very into braiding her American Girl doll's hair.

Sometimes, she styles her OWN hair before school. I slip her teacher a note that explains "I didn't do it!"

Ian is reading these books.....................

He almost always has a book in his hands.

That makes mommy happy.

He also finished up his science fair experiment and board. I sure dread that time of year. If you have even had a child do one, you know what I mean. For one thing, they are tedious. Details, details, details!!!!!

The title for Ian's is......

"The Effect of Coke Products on the Temperature of the Boiling Point".

See what I mean?

Ryan's science fair experiment was selected to go to regionals. However the porportions of the original board aren't correct. So, we get to do it again. Lord have mercy!!!!!

It seems like I run 90 to nothing all the time, yet get nowhere? Do any of you ever feel that way? I often wonder why God didn't make moms with more arms? We might look awfully funny, but it sure would be handy!!!!!

Well, it's 11:30 p.m. and my eyes are burning!!! I'm going to curl in bed and hopefully get a much needed rest.

Happy Monday fwends!!!!!

Titus Robert Scott

I've been having a twinge of regret about Rick getting a ....... you know (snip-snip). I told him soon after Gracie was born that he couldn't come within 10 feet of me until he went to the doctor. (I just wrote that, didn't I?)

We have three BEE-u-tiful children, right? Wouldn't it be best if we made that an even number? Hummmm? (I'm thinking.................)

(laughing) Temporary moment of insanity friends. NO WAY!!!!!! NOT POSSIBLE!!!!!! NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!

I will gladly dote on nieces, nephews, cousins and my friends children. No more for this chick-a-dee.

Soooo, guess who I smooched on yesterday? The newest branch on the family tree. Titus Robert Scott. He was 7 pounds of sweet smelling baby goodness. I sniffed him, talked to him, smiled at him, and told him secrets about how strange our family was.

Someone has to warn the poor child!!!!!

He wasn't alarmed at all. As a matter of fact, my stories made him laugh.......see?
Oh my goodness. Don't ya just wanna smooch all over him?
Macy is his big sister. She will do a mighty fine job of protecting him, I'm positive. After all, she is friends with Spiderman and Batman.

We hoped that Titus would be born on Feburary 3rd.

That is his PaPa Bob's birthday.

Titus' middle name is in honor of his PaPa Bob.

However, Titus had other ideas. So he came into this world 45 minutes after the 3rd of February was over.

That's okay. It's nice to have your own day, right?

Titus,
I didn't tell you this yesterday, because I forgot. You are supposed to call me Aunt Mandy. Even if you are my second cousin. Because........ I like the sound of Aunt better. Besides, I love you more like an Aunt than a second cousin. Is that alright with you? Oh good!!!!!

With much love,
AUNT Mandy

Laundry frightens me

I have nightmares that my laundry will suffocate me during the night. The shirts, socks, underwear, and pants take form. They walk "zombie like" towards me (arms straight in front of them, knees locked, and rocking side to side in a forward motion).

Laundry seems to breed in our house.

It multiplies like bunny rabbits.

I'm certain that I wash clean clothes. I have no way to prove this however. My kids will argue till they turn blue.

THE KIDS: "Huh-uh!!! I wore that.......... remember?" (they usually make up a day they wore it)

ME: "No, my love, I don't remember you wearing your swimming trunks in the snow, but if you say so."

Then, on top of that, I have a dog under my feet. (ahem) Gus? Then Congo, oh my beloved Congo.........

He is a monstrous pest while I'm folding. He takes off with the already paired socks and hides them. Knocks over my neatly folded piles and gets cat hair on my black work-out pants. He also likes squeezing his body into small places. (shoe boxes, suitcases, & LAUNDRY BASKETS)

He thinks I cannot see him. He thinks that he is invisible. He thinks that I love him too much to pop him on the bottom.

He looks so content and comfortable.

What do ya do?

recent obsessions

A few random things that are happening in my life right now.

I'm so excited about the launch of this movie, I can hardly stand it!!!!!!

check out the white mascara. SWEET!!!!

I am doing this Bible study for the next 10 weeks. Actually 7. I am into week 3. Good stuff if you have the opportunity.

Beth Moore's new book came out yesterday. Probably going to own it soon.
Tell me....... what woman doesn't struggle with insecurity?

This is my theme for today! (and probably EVERY day)

I've been taking lots of pictures of the sky. It totally amazes me.

I took this while driving down the road. Does that scare you? It's probably not a good idea.

But look at the beauty friends. Ahhhhhhhhh!

I've been listening to Steven Curtis Chapman's "Beauty Will Rise".

and the polar opposite to the above CD, Lady GaGa

Happy Wednesday!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite-ist people in the whole wide world!!!! PaPa!!!!!
